Since Kerry claims the story he made up about being in Cambodia caused him not to trust the government isn't it fair to use the same story not to trust Kerry ? |

kmudd, I think you're directing the question in part to me so I'll reply.
What you say certainly makes sense. If someone makes an inaccurate statement, from a rhetorical standpoint, it is indeed grounds to doubt other statements they have made.
You asked about Paris. I haven't read as much about that incident. I'm trying to do so now. This forum moves pretty quick! |

kmudd, I'll keep reading, but I'm honestly confused what the larger controversy is about Paris. I've read some blogs and some conservative online news pages that detail a debate about how many meetings Kerry had with Provisional Revolutionary Government in Paris in 1970. FBI files (stolen?) and a Kerry spokesman say one, while there's a quote in the Globe from Kerry that says "visits." Is there some suspicion that he did something unethical or illegal in trying to "bring an end to the killing" (the author of an article's summary of what he was doing in Paris)?

Two Visits. It's a simple google search to find both. Do your research. _________________ On Sale! Order in lots of 100 now at velero@rcn.com Free for the cost of shipping All profits (if any, especially now) go to Swiftvets. The author of "Sink Kerry Swiftly" ---ASPB |

paideia,
Yes. As a commissioned officer, meeting with a representative of an enemy power without explicit authorization is a felony. I forget the exact federal code, but it's quite explicit. In addition, Kerry could (and IMHO should) have been reactived and courtmartialed.
Furthermore if he coordinated with those representatives, he may have given "aid and comfort" to the enemy. That's treason. _________________ -Polaris

It is illegal for American citizens be in negotiations with the enemy why we are in a war. |

Yes,
"Unfit for Command"
Seriously, it is a well researched, annoted book that reads a bit like a legal brief. It is also cross indexed with Tour of Duty and past Boston Globe interviews with Kerry...and much much more. It is suprisingly concise at about 250 pages. _________________ -Polaris

Son, I gave my blood to give you freedom of speech! I'm not quieting you unless you act like a fool and disrespect true American veterans. You're coming close.... _________________ On Sale! Thanks. I haven't read it yet. Both Tour of Duty and Unfit for Command have been both summarized and taken apart in the press (e.g., the Post article), making me hesitant to spend the $$. But, sounds like I should.
