After action gunfire support message indicates the only wounded or killed VC for all of the 13th were: 1 VC Killed, 5 VC Wounded. Gunfire support was called in and rained down in the area where Kerry said he was under fire -- not a single VC wounded or killed there. The above VC were killed or wounded earlier in the day while supporting the ground troops.

Sounds like good progress. Were there any reports about the boats, or boat damages? _________________ said Democratic Chairman Terry McAuliffe. "It is inexcusable to mock service and sacrifice."

Silver Star After-Action Report Found!
Backs up Swift Vets story...written by John Kerry!
One of my local television stations, Fox - Baltimore, just broadcast a breaking news item: they have received a copy of the After Action report from the US Navy Archives and have posted it online. According to the commentary, they say that the after-action report was written by John Kerry.
The After-Action Report Can be Found Here:

Page 2
I'm no expert on after-action reports, so at this point I turn this over to the milibloggers and other experts in the field to further analyze.
NOTE: If you link to this post, please make sure you leave a TrackBack so that I can make sure to follow any additional information you develop. If you cannot leave a TrackBack, e-mail me using the link at the top of the sidebar to keep me up-to-date.
Happy hunting, fellow bloggers!
MY SOURCING: I'm basing this post on the editorial/commentary on Fox - Baltimore. It was publicized on their regular commentary titled "The Point" - the link to which can be found on the right-hand side of their home page. Once you reach "The Point" page, use the drop down box to select "Kerry and the Killing - September 13, 2004 from their archives to view and/or read the commentary on which this post is based. _________________ MJB

Chief,
Is it a lock that Kerry authored the fluff? And what about the cover fire from former post? Who called it in and is there confirmation from the other swiftees? _________________ Corpsman, 1969-1973 |

playing devils's advocate....
Is there a substantive Kerry autograph on the report?
I understand Thurlow was exhausted, but the reports aren't filed until later.
Why would the CG shell the area afterwards, if no hostiles were left?
Just asking!!! _________________ Corpsman, 1969-1973 |

Thanks Chief
Your last explanation help me a lot to understand the reports.
I do have one question or observation rather, from what Jack Chenoweth says seems to me that things where pretty calm after the mine exploded under PFC- 3, if there was small arms fire wouldn?t he report that? Or am I just wrong on my observation? _________________ Remember United Flight 93, "Are you guys ready? Let's roll."

If none of the crew of PCF-3 got purple hearts even though they had wounds that were much worse then Kerry's rice-in-the-but, then, it seems to me that it pretty much debunks Kerry's claim that purple hearts were being handed out like candy. |

Chief,
We need to get this to John O'Neill with the supporting reports.
PM me and we can work out the details. I can call John tomorrow as I've already established a personal relationship with he and his wife. _________________ On Sale!
