Went to the AOL Poll someone posted on the previous page(s). It was split 50/50 on who "Won" the debate. The questions on who would better handle national Security and Iraq were, shall we say not too god for Mr. Kerry. 30-40 point difference!!
People out there who dislike Bush and are voting against him for that reason only will still do so. Those who may not agree with Bush on everything have only to look at the Waffle King to understand the danger that narcassitstic personality poses to our safetey!
Good Nigh JFnKerry!! _________________ U.S. Army 1983-1995, 11C1P/11H2P NBTDT |

Given all the rules, I wasn't expecting anyone to have the opportunity for a KO.
I did expect lies, obfuscations and distortions from Kerry and I wasn't disappointed.
I expected solid, consistent statements about our national defense from the President and I wasn't disappointed there, either.
I expected Lehrer to act like the leftist azzhat that he has always been, but he seemed rather subdued in that regard. Anyone else think so? _________________ ~ Echo Juliet ~

Yes, you certainly did..and I have yet to hear anyone comment on it. Of course he will just say it is mis-speak. |

Bush won hands down.
At best you can sum up Kerry as saying What he's (Bush) is doing but I'll do it better. Not a compelling.
At worst he sounded like Alger Hiss.
I have the hardest time believing that there are people at there who would vote for this guy.
I'm glad Bush kept highlighting that although Kerry claims to be this master diplomat he has insulted all who stand with us now. |

I thought GW looked tired. I wish that he had gone to a spa and had a manicure to relax instead of having comforted hurricane victims all day. I suspect next debate, he will be more rested and come out swinging. I am kind of disappointed in his performance. He is capable of so much more. It must be really tiring to run the world. My husband thought that Kerry looked more polished but that most people would respond better to GW's honesty and committment. We both still have no doubt that Bush will win on Nov. 2.

I'm really bummed. I already know what the opinions of most of us that frequent this site are, but I'm worried about the ones that rarely pay much attention to politics until the debates start. I think for them Kerry looked alot better, and Bill Clinton proved that's all you really need to win 8 years in the White House. |
Well, don't feel too down... maybe Dubya is saving it all for the last debate... can't show his arsonal yet.... save the best for last.. Can't let the other Kamp know what he has up his sleeves... let Kerry think he has it all.. then lay it all loose on him with the final barrage
Then again.. I REALLY don't know if that'a the plan.. makes sense though.. _________________ USAF

Bush had a chance to slam dunk this and he did not. CNN poll??? please..we know where that is leading..to Comrade Schnieder and his analysis..
however a good article to be read:

a bit slanted toward Kerry..but what the heck, fair to say the least..

Did you notice the large banner to the right of the article? I think it attempts to make it look like its a headline but its an ad run by the DMC saying Kerry won and Bush failed to have a plan for Iraq.

yes he did say that - I guess he has invented his own description of what that is. Equally annoying was how he kept saying 'the america' instead of america. |

And it makes me sick because Holbrooke was an advistor to Johnson on Vietnam and said on PBS's Vietnam documentary that when we got into Vietnam he was thrilled the he was in a war. But the thing was he was a diplomat not a solider so his live was not in danger. He was thrilled that he was endangering other young men. |

If Bush and Kerry were to have a "real" debate I think GW would have rattled him. As it was, the format was better for Kerry.
This was an important debate. I hope I am wrong about the result. I do fear the media will trumpet this up and it will lose GW his lead. |

That was on MSNBC? I tested that thing. You can sit there and vote and vote and vote as many times as you want. That vote means absolutely NOTHING. |
