LATEST PRESIDENTIAL POLL RESULTS, VIETNAM VETS
This is an ongoing poll. Please send any data to [Deleted by Admin].
Results as of September 20, 2004:
(*** indicates new data)
This data is reported from all over the country. Any group could just as well have preferred Kerry, but so far no group has. Although some groups are small, the fact that all point in the same direction, and very strongly at that, suggests that what this collection is telling us is very significant statistically, and it looks like our estimate now is that 80% of all Vietnam vets oppose Kerry. A front page article in today's paper reports on a new national Knight Ridder-MSNBC poll, which utilized 625 people in its sample. Most other national polls use around 1,000 in their sample of national opinion
For example, if you go to RealClearPolitics.com, which reports on national polls, you will see that Newsweek uses a sample of 1,003, CBS - 905, L.A. Times - 1,352, Harris - 1,012, CNN - 767, etc. There are at least four reports in our "Groups With Data" polls with larger samples than that, allowing us to be quite confident in our above estimate, especially when all reports are added together.
When the opinions of Vietnam vets are added to all other vets in national polls you will see the gap narrowing, but still significantly in favor of Bush. So what this is telling us is that Vietnam vets have some special reason for opposing Kerry, a reason the media should be reporting to the public. But isn't.
