June 1, 2008 -- Swift Vets and POWs for Truth has formally disbanded and ceased all operations as of May 31, 2008. SwiftVets.com will continue to be maintained for historical purposes only by New American Media Online Services (NAMOS).

----------

December 13, 2006 -- Swift Vets and POWs for Truth has reached an agreement with the Federal Election Commission regarding the FEC's allegation that our organization and others should have registered as political committees in 2004. See our press release for information on the terms of the settlement.

----------

November 30, 2004 -- Migrated the site to a single server, consolidating all pages, TV ads, mini-documentaries and forums in one place. Old links starting with "swift*.he.net" no longer work, but all previous content is still available.

----------

November 3, 2004 -- Statement by Admiral Roy Hoffmann, founder of Swift Vets and POWs for Truth

----------

November 1, 2004 -- More evidence accrues that John Kerry's initial discharge from the Navy was less than honorable, and a source confirms that his discharge status kept him from being admitted to the Harvard Law School. No comment from the Kerry campaign -- and no denial. See Kerry's Discharge Is Questioned by an Ex-JAG Officer by Thomas Lipscomb in the New York Sun.

Update: Former Secretary of the Navy William Middendorf urges Kerry to release his Naval records and defends the character of Mark Sullivan, the former JAG officer cited in the NY Sun story above. Mr. Middendorf notes that the Privacy Act prevents him from commenting specifically on the status of Kerry's discharge. See Ex-Navy sec to Kerry: Open up your records by Art Moore at WorldNetDaily.

----------

October 30, 2004 -- Now available in video or DVD: Unfit to Lead...Vietnam to Iraq: the truth about John Kerry, hosted by John O'Neill. Preview a one-minute trailer here.

John O'Neill debated John Hurley of "Vietnam Vets for Kerry" earlier this week, with Paul Schiffer mediating. Audio of the program is now available at the Schiffer Report web site.

----------

October 29, 2004 -- Recommended reading: Kerry's Military Discharge. What's Kerry Hiding?, by Lt. Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson, and Post Mortem, Jeff Carrington's devastating reply to a recent op-ed by Washington Post executive editor Leonard Downie Jr. claiming that the paper is free from partisan bias. We suspect that the Post will decline to print Mr. Carrington's letter, in an impartial sort of way...

Swift Vets and POWs blast Kerry campaign for censorship tactics

----------

October 27, 2004 -- America's most highly decorated living veteran, Col. George "Bud" Day was in Iowa yesterday, where he referred to John Kerry as "the Benedict Arnold of 1971." The legendary aviator and former POW appeared in our final two TV commercials, Why? and They Served.

----------

Researchers working with Swift Vets and POWs for Truth have uncovered archived documents captured during the Vietnam War that link John Kerry and Vietnam Veterans Against the War to communist propaganda planners via the Paris Peace talks. See Hanoi Approved of Role Played By Anti-War Vets, by Thomas Lipscomb of the New York Sun, and John Kerry and the VVAW: Hanoi's American Puppets? by Dr. Jerome Corsi and Scott Swett at WinterSoldier.com.

----------

October 19, 2004 -- Advantage Swift Vets, a new online-only epilogue to John O'Neill and Jerome Corsi's #1 best-seller Unfit for Command, is available for free from Human Events Online. The new chapter covers recent developments, including the reaction of the Kerry campaign / mainstream media to our charges. It also asks some rather pointed questions of John Kerry. We think the American public deserves some straight answers.

----------

October 15, 2004 -- John O'Neill appeared on "Nightline" with Ted Koppel last night to discuss John Kerry's controversial 4-month tour in Vietnam. Mr. Koppel's performance was a stark reminder that much old-line news reporting is more about advancing a political agenda than uncovering the truth.

John O'Neill has issued a statement regarding the interview.

----------

October 13, 2004 -- It appears increasingly likely that John Kerry was given less than an honorable discharge by the U.S. Navy. In Mystery Surrounds Kerry's Navy Discharge, reporter Thomas Lipscomb notes that Kerry's discharge required a review by a board of officers, which suggests that he may have been involuntarily separated from the service. Of course, Senator Kerry could clear all this up by signing a Standard Form 180 to authorize the complete release of his military records...

Action Alert: After trying unsuccessfully to block the publication of "Unfit for Command," John Kerry's supporters are now working to prevent Sinclair Broadcasting Group from airing the POW documentary film Stolen Honor on its 62 nationwide affiliates later this month. Here's how you can help.

Just released: They Served and Why?, our eighth and ninth TV ads.

----------

October 4, 2004 -- Blogger Dean Esmay has published an excellent interview with Swift vet Van Odell, and TimesWatch.org analyzes the grotesquely biased coverage of the N.Y. Times in Double Standard: Times Tars Swift Boat Vets, Plugs False "Bush AWOL" Story.

----------

October 1, 2004 -- Recommended reading: Swift boat vets' stories hold up under fire, by Admiral Hoffmann, and John Kerry and the politics of betrayal, by Dr. Jerry Corsi.

Also, don't miss New Document Indicates Kerry Wrote Disputed Vietnam Report, by Thomas Lipscomb, which provides new evidence that John Kerry wrote the after-action report covering the incident for which he received the Bronze Star. Lipscomb points out that Kerry was "the principal beneficiary of its glowing references to his performance" and notes that the report "completely leaves out how Kerry's own boat, PCF 94, ran downriver, leaving James Rassman overboard and the other three boats to deal with the ambush and the sinking PCF 3."

----------

September 30, 2004 -- Released Never Forget, our seventh TV ad.

We've also added a new Petition Block.

Sign here to ask John Kerry to explain his claim that American troops in Vietnam committed war crimes routinely and as a matter of policy, and to respond to our many, well-documented charges that he has misrepresented his own service in Vietnam.

----------

----------

September 22, 2004 -- Added a rare and interesting debate between Van Odell and Kerry supporter Del Sandusky on Lynn Breidenbach's "Florida Talks" radio show to our TV Ads and Videos topic. The Kerry campaign avoids head-to-head matchups between Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and members of Kerry's own diminutive "Band of Brothers," and after hearing this you'll understand why. Dialup users warning: the audio file is rather large (21MB).

----------

September 21, 2004 -- Released Friends, our sixth TV ad, and posted the related press release: New Swift Boat Veterans for Truth TV Ad: Kerry Secretly Met with Enemy Leaders While America Was at War.

The top section contains the home page and our latest news updates, some quotes and video clips from our initial press conference on May 4, our analysis of a photograph of Swift officers used by the Kerry campaign, and a frequently asked questions (FAQ) page.

The second section covers events in the Vietnam era, starting with a comparison of John Kerry's claims regarding his medals, fitness reports and various events to what we actually witnessed. It also documents Kerry's false charges of widespread American war crimes, the transcript of a famous 1971 debate between Kerry and fellow Swift veteran John O'Neill, and provides a look at one Swift boat's visit to a Vietnamese village.

The third section lists our press releases, our letters to John Kerry and the Kerry campaign, and selected articles and interviews. It also provides information about our organization and officers, and describes how we protect the privacy of guests, subscribers and contributors.
